GIS Manager in AECON UAE

Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking to hire GIS Manager to be based at Dubai. The GIS Manager is responsible for the overall development of GIS, data analysis and provides support to the project team and the wider office to meet project and related business goals and objectives. As GIS manager he will be responsible for overseeing and supervising all staff allocated to this discipline and undertaking work in relation to GIS in the Dubai office. He will advise and take responsibility for technical requirements and staff recruitment as required of a key discipline manager within the business.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Searches for and compiles available data based on project needs and specifications. Screens available data for relevance and applicability and supervises and provides technical direction to junior staff who might be allocated to him as the team grows.
• Designs GIS, database, and analytical processes, including system development e.g., tailoring hardware, software, and data configurations to meet specific project needs or general office-wide needs.
• Integrates hardware, software, and data. Assesses precision and accuracy of GIS data; makes decisions regarding relevance to projects. May integrate non-GIS data with GIS applications, as appropriate.
• Performs quality assurance on GIS data and processes.
• Coordinates regularly with regional offices (UK, Africa, and KSA) to ensure technical delivery standards are maintained at a high level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors or postgraduate Degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Environment, Computer Science or related curriculum.
